The Dowry System Of Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, the dowry system is a common unpleasant subject for all. In Bangladesh, there are many kinds of unpleasant customs. That is against a successful and developed nation. It is so hateful system in Bangladesh. In this system the bride has to give much amount gifts to the bridegroom. Poverty is the main cause of dowry. In the poor society has a native attitude towards to women, dependence of women and attitude for establishment. We see that in the village or in the poor family that wives are often tortured by their husband or other people in their husband’s family for dowry. In the past most of the time, we are seeing that newly married girls are tortured in all possible ways. But in the modern time this problem are being removed from our country. In the past the impact of this system was more harmful in the remote village of Bangladesh which was totally deprived of the touch of modernization. In the past Bangladesh, few women were killed for tortured by heir husband family. Most time, husband of bride mother in law tortured so much. I think dowry system is very disgraceful for Bangladesh. If we see towards the developed country, we see that they make a good friend with their wife. So we should follow them, we should also make a good friendship with our wives. We should help them with their work. However to eliminate this social evil, one cannot remain satisfied with more laws or enactment of some rules. We have to change our outlook and orientation towards dowry system. Narrow, mentality of the greedy people should be changed. Social awareness should be increased. Law should be applied for ensuring women rights. This entire do, we can hope that Bangladesh one day will see the face of light.
